Characteristics of Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) Knitted Fabric

① High Cut and Puncture Resistance

The molecular structure of UHMWPE fiber is highly oriented and has high crystallinity (over 60%), and the single-fiber strength can reach 10-15 times that of steel wire of the same thickness, giving the knitted fabric excellent cut resistance and a high cut resistance level.

② Abrasion Resistance and Tear Resistance

Abrasion resistance is 3-7 times that of carbon steel, especially excellent in dynamic friction environments. Lightweight and high-strength, the specific strength is more than 10 times that of steel wire.

③ Cool Touch and Breathability

UHMWPE fiber has a high thermal conductivity, combined with the porosity of the knitted structure, giving the fabric a significant cool touch. Increasing the UHMWPE content can improve thermal conductivity and cool touch performance.

④ Moisture Absorption, Sweat Wicking, and Lightweight

Density is only 0.97 g/cm³ (lighter than water), significantly reducing the burden of wearing.

⑤ Chemical Resistance and Environmental Resistance

Resistant to acids, alkalis, and seawater corrosion, and ultraviolet radiation; it remains flexible and does not become brittle even in extreme environments (-150℃).

Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) knitted fabric, with its ultra-high strength, wear resistance, cut resistance, lightweight, and chemical corrosion resistance, is used in many fields, especially suitable for scenarios requiring high-strength protection and flexibility and comfort.

Applications of Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Knitted Fabric

1. Protective Gloves

Industrial fields: Automotive manufacturing (sheet metal processing, glass installation), metal processing, aerospace (composite material processing), glass/ceramic cutting, slaughterhouses, waste recycling (metal/glass sorting).

Outdoor sports: Rock climbing, sailing, motocross, mountaineering (protection against rock/rope cuts), mountain biking gloves.

Tactical security: Military and police riot gloves, cut-resistant tactical gloves.

2. Protective Clothing (Partial or Full Body Protection)

Arm/leg guards: Used in glass processing and metal processing operations.

Cut-resistant aprons: Slaughterhouses, food processing (such as fish filleting).

Tactical protective clothing: Anti-stab vest lining, reinforced layers at the joints of military and police combat uniforms.

3. Sports and Outdoor Equipment

Sports protective gear: Lightweight anti-fall knee/wrist guards, ski suits and other equipment suitable for extreme sports.

Reinforced layers for outdoor clothing: Cut-resistant patches on the elbows/knees of mountaineering suits, wear-resistant contact areas of backpacks.

4. Safety and Security Products

Anti-stab equipment: Anti-impact racing suits, fencing suits.

Explosion-proof equipment: Bomb disposal suit lining, reducing weight while maintaining protection. Anti-stab vests (UHMWPE knitted layer composite anti-stab material). Explosion-proof bags, protecting confidential documents.

Cut-resistant face shields/neck guards: For high-risk environments such as law enforcement and prisons.

5. Industrial and Special Purposes

Wear-resistant conveyor belts/linings: Used in mining, machinery, and other high-frequency friction environments.

Cut-resistant ropes/slings: Lifting precision equipment (such as glass panels) to avoid cuts.

Filter materials: Chemically resistant filter cloths used in the chemical industry.
