Applications of Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Felt
(1) Building and Engineering Toughening
In concrete pavement maintenance, there is a high-moisture-retention concrete pavement maintenance felt, which is a special composite of a PE film that prevents water evaporation and a PET needle-punched felt that provides moisture retention. In road construction and renovation, polyester fiberglass composite (PE) series felts are used to prevent road cracks and water seepage, extending the service life of roads. In concrete toughening, UHMWPE fiber felt can enhance the crack resistance of concrete.
(2) Environmental Protection and Industrial Wear Resistance
Dust removal filter bag products such as needle-punched felt dust bags are used in industries such as cement plants and wastewater treatment plants.
Industrial wear-resistant linings are used in bins, conveyor pipes, etc. UHMW-PE felt, as a lining/inner lining for bins/pipes, conveys abrasive media such as slurry and fly ash, solving the problem of cement and mineral powder sticking to bins, and has a long wear-resistant life.
It can also be used for industrial wear-resistant gloves and cut-resistant gloves.
(3) Sports and Personal Protection
UHMW-PE felt is spun into wear-resistant kneepads for use in protective equipment for sports such as skiing, football, and skateboarding.
In terms of wear resistance and puncture resistance, it can be used to make fencing uniforms and racing suits, reducing the impact on the human body.
(4) Bulletproof and Impact Resistant
In terms of bulletproof and puncture resistance, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene felt can be spun into bulletproof helmets and bulletproof vests.
It can also be used as a lining for explosion-proof bags to increase safety.
