Characteristics of Reflective Products

Reflective tapes, threads, clothing, and fabrics all fall under the category of high-visibility warning materials. The core principle is the use of retroreflection technology. When light shines on the material's surface, most of the light reflects back in a direction parallel to the incident light. At night or in low-light conditions, when a light source (such as headlights) shines on these materials, they emit a very noticeable glow, allowing the wearer or object to be clearly identified from a distance, thus greatly improving safety.

1. Reflective Tape

Mainly used to weave reflective fabrics together with other ordinary yarns, or as sewing thread/embroidery thread directly sewn/embroidered onto clothing, backpacks, shoes, etc.

Various patterns, text, and logos can be designed, combining both decorative and functional roles.

Usually used in key areas of clothing (such as cuffs, inseams, collars, chest, and back) to form eye-catching reflective stripes or markings.

2. Reflective Fabric

Fabric with a whole or large area of reflective function.

It can be woven fabrics (such as polyester, nylon), knitted fabrics (good elasticity, suitable for sportswear), non-woven fabrics, etc.

High-quality reflective fabrics do not significantly reduce their reflective performance after multiple washes, friction, and sun and rain exposure.

3. Reflective Clothing

Refers to ready-made clothing or vests made using reflective fabrics and reflective tapes/threads.

The primary purpose is to improve the wearer's visibility in low-light environments to ensure safety. Comfort and durability are also important considerations.

1. Reflective Tape

① Occupational safety clothing: Reflective stripes, badges, and marking stitches on fire suits, police uniforms, sanitation worker uniforms, road maintenance uniforms, petrochemical worker uniforms, etc.

② Outdoor sportswear: Reflective logos, line decorations, and pocket edges on running clothes, cycling clothes, mountaineering clothes, and ski clothes.

③ Shoes, hats, and backpacks: Reflective markings on athletic shoes and safety shoes, reflective stripes on the back of hats, reflective stripes or patterns on backpack straps and bags.

④ Fashion apparel: Designers incorporate reflective threads as decorative elements in fashion and trendy clothing, combining safety and fashion.

⑤ Pet supplies: Reflective stripes on pet collars, leashes, and vests.

⑥ Home textiles and industry: Tents, safety nets, flags, industrial reflective marking tapes, etc.

2. Reflective Fabric

Outdoor sportswear: Making whole reflective jackets, vests, and pants, or as large-area spliced fabrics for clothing.

Functional apparel: Cycling wear, motorcycle wear, children's safety jackets.

Safety equipment: Reflective flags, reflective tents, reflective safety barrier covers, reflective warning vests (non-professional grade).

Professional high-visibility warning clothing: This is the main application area.

Classification according to standards (such as EN ISO 20471):

Class 3 (highest): Full body coverage of reflective tape and fluorescent base (such as full-body reflective jackets and overalls), suitable for high-risk, high-speed environments (highway work, fire rescue).

Class 2: Moderate coverage (such as reflective vests + long-sleeved fluorescent clothing), suitable for medium-risk environments (urban road work, police duty uniforms).

Class 1: Minimum coverage (such as reflective vests, reflective armbands), suitable for low-risk, low-speed environments (parking lot staff, large event guides).
Fashion and special uses: Stage performance costumes, creative design clothing, special industry uniforms (such as some courier/delivery personnel uniforms also use them).
