How does meta-aramid non-woven fabric change our lives?

Meta-aramid

Meta-aramid is a high-performance synthetic fiber with key characteristics including:

High Temperature Resistance

Decomposition temperature is approximately 400℃, with a long-term usable temperature of 200℃. It does not melt at high temperatures; it only carbonizes.

Flame Retardancy

Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) ≥28%, self-extinguishing when exposed to fire, low-smoke and non-toxic during combustion.

Chemical Stability

Resistant to most acids, alkalis, organic solvents, and oils, suitable for harsh chemical environments.

Mechanical Properties

High strength, high modulus, wear-resistant and tear-resistant.

Electrical Insulation

Maintains excellent insulation properties even at high temperatures, with stable dielectric constant.

Low Thermal Conductivity

Low thermal conductivity, significant heat insulation effect.

From the perspective of end-use applications, meta-aramid, due to its high temperature resistance and flame retardant characteristics, as well as good fabric thermal and moisture comfort, is mainly used in high-temperature protective fabrics, electrical insulation and heat insulation, and high-temperature filter materials and high-temperature conveyor belts requiring high-temperature conditions.

Meta-aramid can be used in differentiated application products: white fiber, easily dyed fiber, dyeable fiber, pre-spinning colored fiber, aramid-based conductive fiber, precipitation fiber, meta-aramid paper, etc.

Fire Protection and High-Temperature Protection
Meta-aramid non-woven fabric has inherent flame retardancy and can maintain structural stability at high temperatures. It is widely used in protective equipment such as firefighter suits, fire blankets, and high-temperature work gloves. For example, firefighters wearing protective clothing made of meta-aramid can withstand temperatures as high as 200℃ or more, significantly reducing the risk of burns.

Smart Wearables and Home Furnishings
Its lightweight and flexible properties are used in smart textiles, such as the heat insulation layer of wearable devices or flexible sensor substrates. In addition, it can also be used to make flame-retardant curtains, fire-resistant carpets, and other home products to enhance home safety.

Sports and Leisure
Used in equipment such as snowboards and sports helmets, utilizing its high strength and impact resistance to improve the performance of sports equipment while reducing weight to enhance comfort.

Electrical and New Energy Fields
Meta-aramid non-woven fabric is used as an insulating material in transformers, wind turbines, and new energy vehicle batteries to improve equipment reliability and safety. For example, its high-temperature resistance can prevent battery overheating and extend service life.

Aerospace and Defense
Used in the heat insulation layer and honeycomb structural materials of aircraft to reduce aircraft weight and improve high-temperature performance. The wing skin of the US B-2 stealth bomber uses aramid materials to enhance stealth capabilities.
