It is resistant to high temperatures of 280℃ and self-extinguishes after being removed from the flame. This "fire-resistant" ability makes it ideal for aerospace, fire prevention, and heat insulation applications.
Characteristics of Polyimide:
① High-temperature resistance; it does not melt or decompose at high temperatures.
② Flame retardancy; Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) ≥38%, no flame retardants needed, self-extinguishing after removal from flame, no release of toxic gases.
③ Chemical stability; resistant to strong acids, strong alkalis, organic solvents, and radiation; hydrolysis resistant.
④ Mechanical properties; high strength (>4.5cN/dtex), high modulus, crimped structure enhances fluffiness and resilience, good fatigue resistance.
⑤ Electrical insulation; low dielectric constant (3.0~3.5), stable insulation performance in high-frequency environments, resistant to arc breakdown.
⑥ Low moisture absorption; moisture absorption rate <1%, stable performance in humid environments, no expansion or deformation.
⑦ Lightweight; density approximately 1.4g/cm³, lighter than metals and other synthetic fibers, suitable for weight reduction applications.
⑧ Environmental friendliness; minimal residue after high-temperature incineration.
Applications:
Bulletproof materials, high-strength lightweight composite materials, friction seals;
High-temperature dust filtration in steel mills, coal-fired power plants, etc.;
