Applications of Meta-aramid
Automotive Industry
Due to its excellent properties such as high temperature resistance, friction resistance, and radiation resistance, meta-aramid is used in many parts of automobile production.
Car tires (meta-aramid fiber), hoses (meta-aramid knitted/woven), brake pads (meta-aramid pulp), clutches (meta-aramid pulp, fiber), shock absorbers, non-metallic gears (meta-aramid pulp, fiber), synchronous belts (meta-aramid rope), car interiors and seat belts (meta-aramid woven), clutch gaskets (skeleton reinforcing material).
Environmental Protection
Meta-aramid is often used in dust collectors for high-temperature dust removal equipment in smelting, cement, and road construction (meta-aramid fiber).
Safety Protection
Meta-aramid does not produce molten drops when exposed to fire, self-extinguishes after removing the fire source, and has ultra-strong wear resistance and a soft and comfortable texture.
It is often used to produce protective clothing, protective gloves, and other safety protection equipment, which can effectively resist high temperature, flames, and arc hazards.
Rail Transit
Meta-aramid is used in key components of power traction, friction braking, vehicle structure, and flame-retardant interiors in high-speed rail transit vehicles such as high-speed trains, EMUs, and subways.
High-speed rail brake pads. Meta-aramid has wear resistance and high-temperature resistance, which can reduce brake noise and enhance wear resistance.
Fireproof seat covers. Meta-aramid can withstand temperatures of 200℃, is difficult to burn in air, and has good dimensional stability.
Aramid Paper
With the rapid development of China's high-speed trains, domestically produced large aircraft manufacturing, and aircraft carrier equipment manufacturing industries, the application fields of aramid paper are constantly increasing, and the applications of aramid insulating paper and aramid paper honeycomb are constantly being explored and expanded.
Aramid paper honeycomb is lightweight, has high specific strength and specific stiffness, outstanding corrosion resistance and flame retardancy; excellent environmental resistance and insulation; unique resilience and energy absorption characteristics; good electromagnetic wave permeability and high-temperature stability, etc.
Aramid paper honeycomb is used in the ceilings, window frames, luggage racks, partitions, floors, door panels, and cabinets of transportation vehicles such as high-speed trains, double-decker trains, subways, light rail, cruise ships, and speedboats.
Aramid paper is mainly composed of aramid chopped fibers and aramid precipitated fibers. Aramid chopped fibers are used as the skeleton material, mainly providing the mechanical strength of the product; aramid precipitated fibers are used as filling and bonding materials to bond the fibers together and improve the bonding strength of the product.
Aramid insulating paper has thermal stability, flame retardancy, electrical insulation, chemical stability, wear resistance, and radiation resistance.
Aramid paper is often used as an insulating material in key parts such as motor slot insulation and slot wedges.
