Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) Filament Fabric

Ultra-High Strength and Lightweight

The strength of UHMWPE filament fabric is 15 times that of steel with the same cross-sectional area, 40% higher than aramid fiber, and its density is only 0.97g/cm³, allowing it to float on water. This achieves a perfect combination of lightweight and high strength.

Its breaking strength can reach over 40cN/dtex (bulletproof grade), and its initial modulus exceeds 1500cN/dtex, far surpassing traditional synthetic fibers.

Chemical and Environmental Stability

Resistant to acids, alkalis, salt spray, and organic solvents. It maintains stable performance even after prolonged immersion, making it suitable for chemical equipment sealing or marine engineering protection.

Excellent low-temperature performance, usable in the range of -140℃ to 80℃, without embrittlement under extreme conditions.

Impact and Abrasion Resistance

It has high energy absorption capacity and superior impact resistance to carbon fiber and aramid, suitable for dynamic impact protection scenarios (such as bulletproof vests and riot shields).

Abrasion resistance is 8 times that of carbon steel and 4 times that of nylon, suitable for high-wear environments (such as conveyor belts and mechanical parts).

Electrical Insulation and Self-Lubrication

High dielectric strength (100,000 V/mm²) and low dielectric loss, suitable for high-voltage insulation materials.

Surface self-lubrication is close to polytetrafluoroethylene, reducing friction loss and suitable for oil-free lubrication of mechanical parts.

Applications of Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Filament Fabric

Bulletproof and Safety Protection

Bulletproof vests and armor: Made into lightweight bulletproof materials using a warp-only fabric technology (only warp yarns + adhesive), reducing weight by 20%-30% compared to traditional aramid, capable of withstanding machine gun fire within 7 meters.

Cut-resistant gloves and protective gear: High-strength filaments woven into fabric, combining flexibility and puncture resistance, used for industrial protection and special operations.

Aerospace and Marine Engineering

Spacecraft parachute cords: The parachute cords of the Shenzhou spacecraft return capsule are made of a composite of UHMWPE fiber and aramid, with a single cord load capacity of 60 tons.

Deep-sea cables and protective nets: Used for deep-sea drilling platform anchor ropes or aquaculture net cages, resistant to seawater corrosion and biological fouling, with a lifespan 3 times that of steel cables.

Industrial and Transportation

High-performance conveyor belts: High-temperature resistant and wear-resistant, used in glass manufacturing or metallurgy industries, able to withstand molten metal splashes.

Lightweight composite materials: Composite with resin to produce aircraft interior panels and high-speed rail car body parts, reducing weight by over 30% and improving impact resistance.

Sporting Goods

High-end sports equipment: Made into thin and lightweight ski boards and sailboat rigging, with a strength 4 times that of nylon ropes and non-absorbent.
