Aramid 1313 thick felt is used as thermal insulation lining for furnaces and pipelines

Core Characteristics of Aramid 1313 Thick Felt

Balance of Medium Weight and Thickness

Weight (2800g/㎡): Between conventional industrial aramid felt (500-800g/㎡) and high-density thick felt (e.g., 8000g/㎡), balancing density and flexibility, suitable for scenarios requiring medium mechanical strength.

Thickness (8mm): Significantly thicker than thin felt (1.8-3mm), providing better heat insulation, cushioning, and compressive strength, but still more flexible in processing than ultra-thick specifications (e.g., 25mm).

High Temperature Resistance and Flame Retardancy

Aramid 1313 has a continuous temperature resistance of 220℃ and an instantaneous temperature resistance of 230℃. The 8mm thickness can slow down heat transfer, suitable for scenarios requiring short-term high-temperature isolation.

Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) >28%, self-extinguishing, no melt droplets during combustion, suitable for fire barriers or high-temperature sealing materials.

Chemical Stability and Corrosion Resistance

Resistant to weak acids, weak alkalis, and organic solvents, but surface coating protection is required in strong acid/alkali environments.

The multi-layer fiber structure of the 8mm thick felt can prevent the penetration of corrosive media, suitable for the protective layer of chemical plant equipment.

Electrical Insulation and Mechanical Properties

High dielectric strength (breakdown voltage up to 100,000 V/mm²), thick felt can be used as an insulating gasket or protective cover for high-voltage equipment.

Warp/weft strength >1600N/5×20cm, with both tear resistance and wear resistance, suitable for dynamic load environments.

Application Fields of Aramid 1313 Thick Felt

1. High-Temperature Industrial Protection

High-temperature filter material: Used in dust removal systems of steel plants and cement plants, 2800g/㎡ weight can improve filtration efficiency, 8mm thickness extends filter bag life, and withstands dust below 200℃.

Equipment insulation layer: As a heat insulation pad for furnaces and pipelines, reducing heat loss and protecting operators.

2. Fire and Safety Protection

Building fire isolation belt: 8mm thick felt can be cut into fireproof boards or filling layers to slow down the spread of fire and meet the fire resistance requirements of buildings.

Protective clothing reinforcement layer: When compounded with aramid 1414, it is used for fire suits or arc protective clothing to enhance local high-temperature and impact resistance.

3. Electrical Equipment and Sealing

High-voltage insulation components: Used as insulating gaskets in transformers and motors, the thickness adapts to the safety distance requirements in high-voltage environments.

Chemical sealing gaskets: Corrosion resistance makes it suitable for sealing valves and flanges, and the 8mm thickness can fill irregular surface gaps.

4. Composite Material Reinforcement

Honeycomb core material: When compounded with epoxy resin, it is used for aircraft interiors or lightweight sandwich panels, and the 8mm thickness provides good compressive strength and sound insulation.

Sports equipment protective layer: Such as the inner lining of racing helmets or the buffer layer of snowboards, balancing lightweight and impact resistance needs.
