Abrasion-resistant bulletproof fabric is used in personal protective equipment such as stab-resistant vests and cut-resistant gloves.

Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) woven fabric It is a fabric made from ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber (UHMWPE Fiber) as raw material, produced through weaving process.

The fabric formed by interlacing ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fibers in warp and weft directions has a stable structure, is not easily deformed, has good integrity, and possesses excellent impact resistance and abrasion resistance.

 

Characteristics of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene woven fabric:

① Strength and modulus

High specific strength: Its strength is more than 15 times that of steel wire of the same cross-section, higher than carbon fiber and aramid. This means it is lightweight when meeting the same strength requirements.

High specific modulus: High modulus means the material is not easily stretched or deformed and has good rigidity.

② Low density, lightweight and high strength

Density is only 0.97-0.98 g/cm³, lighter than water (water is 1.0 g/cm³). This makes the equipment made very lightweight, greatly reducing the burden on users or devices.

③ Excellent impact resistance and energy absorption capability

The fiber has a high elongation at break, which can effectively absorb and disperse impact energy through deformation, making it very suitable for bulletproof and stab-resistant applications.

④ Outstanding abrasion resistance

Its abrasion resistance is excellent, 10 times that of carbon steel and 4 times that of nylon. This makes products made from it very durable and long-lasting.

⑤ Chemical corrosion resistance

It has excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, solvents, and seawater corrosion, suitable for harsh chemical environments.

⑥ Low friction coefficient and self-lubricating properties

The surface is smooth, with a low friction coefficient and self-lubricating characteristics, not easily sticking to other materials.

⑦ Hydrophobicity

Does not absorb water and maintains stable performance in humid environments without weight gain or performance degradation due to water absorption.

⑧ Electrical insulation

Has good electrical insulation properties.

 

Applications of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene woven fabric:

1. Personal protective equipment

Soft bulletproof vests & bulletproof plate covering layers Using its ultra-high specific strength and energy absorption capability, it is woven into high-density bulletproof fabric for making bulletproof layers in vests. It is currently the mainstream material for soft bulletproof vests.

Stab-resistant clothing & cut-resistant gloves Its high strength and high modulus characteristics effectively resist stabbing and cutting by sharp objects such as daggers and blades, used in gloves and clothing for security, firefighting, forestry, and other fields.

Bulletproof helmets Used as a composite reinforcement combined with resin to make lightweight and high-strength bulletproof helmets.

2. Defense and security

Armored vehicle protection Used to make internal anti-fragmentation liners for vehicles to protect personnel from secondary fragment injuries.

Tents and camouflage nets Its lightweight, high strength, and weather resistance make it very suitable for military logistics equipment.

Blast blankets Used to wrap suspicious explosives to absorb and block shock waves and fragments generated by explosions.

3. Aerospace and marine

Aerospace composite materials Used as lightweight and high-strength reinforcement materials for aircraft interior panels, cargo bay panels, drone components, etc.

Ropes and mooring cables Used to make mooring cables, tow cables, and sailboat ropes for deep-sea drilling platforms. Its lightweight and high strength significantly reduce weight and increase operational depth.

Sails Used to manufacture high-performance racing boat sails with high strength, light weight, and no deformation.

4. Industrial and sports goods
