80% Polyimide + 20% Pre-oxidized Fiber Blended Felt
The 80% polyimide and 20% pre-oxidized fiber blended felt is a high-performance composite fiber material. It combines the advantages of polyimide (PI) fibers and pre-oxidized fibers, exhibiting outstanding performance in high temperature resistance, flame retardancy, and thermal insulation.
1. Excellent Thermal Stability
PI can withstand long-term temperatures from -200°C to 300°C, and short-term temperatures above 400°C; it does not melt at high temperatures but only carbonizes. Panof can endure long-term temperatures of 200-300°C and instantaneous temperatures up to 1000°C. The blended felt broadens the effective temperature range, combining excellent long-term thermal stability with very high instantaneous heat resistance.
2. Outstanding Flame Retardancy
PI has a Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) as high as 44, self-extinguishes when removed from flame, and produces no molten droplets; Panof has an LOI greater than 45%, and does not melt or drip when burning. The blended felt effectively prevents flame spread, providing reliable fire protection.
3. Strong Thermal Insulation and Heat Preservation
The blended felt has a low thermal conductivity, forming an excellent thermal barrier that effectively reduces heat transfer.
4. Strong Mechanical Properties
High strength and high modulus, good durability, the fiber web has good elongation, easy to mold by pressing, more durable, and good formability.
5. Good Chemical Stability
Excellent chemical resistance and acid corrosion resistance.
Applications of Polyimide and Pre-oxidized Fiber Blended Felt
1. High-Temperature Industry and Dust Removal
This is an important application area for polyimide fibers and pre-oxidized fibers. The blended felt can be used to make filter bags for baghouse dust collectors, especially suitable for:
Cement industry kiln tail gas: resistant to high temperature and chemical corrosion.
Steel smelting, waste incineration, and power industries: handling high-temperature dusty flue gas.
Its efficient filtration is due to the dense porous structure of the fibers, effectively capturing fine particles such as PM2.5.
2. Thermal Insulation and Fire Protection in High-Temperature Environments
Industrial insulation: used as insulation materials for high-temperature pipelines, furnaces, and equipment to reduce heat loss and save energy. Pre-oxidized fiber felt itself is a good thermal insulator, while polyimide provides higher strength and thermal stability.
Fire protective clothing: Polyimide fibers, due to their flame retardancy, heat resistance, and good skin compatibility, are ideal materials for making firefighting suits and industrial heat-insulating flame-retardant workwear for metallurgy and other fields. The blended pre-oxidized fiber may further enhance its thermal insulation performance and comfort.
3. Sealing and Shock Absorption Padding Materials
Due to its good toughness, resilience, and high and low temperature resistance, this felt can be used as sealing, gasket, and shock-absorbing cushioning materials for high-temperature equipment, such as in automotive engine compartments and aerospace equipment.
