Specialized applications of ultra-thick aramid felt

Aramid felt

①High-temperature resistance: Long-term use temperature ≥200℃, instantaneous flame resistance above 700℃, no decomposition or melting at 560℃.

②Flame retardancy: Limiting oxygen index (LOI) >28, self-extinguishing after removing the flame, no dripping, and no toxic gases.

③Chemical stability: Resistant to acids, alkalis, corrosion, and organic solvents.

④Mechanical properties: High strength, high modulus, tear resistance, and cut resistance.

Aramid 1414 thick felt 3000g/8mm

Medium weight, relatively thin thickness. Good flexibility, easy to cut and fit complex curves; moderate heat insulation.

Applications:

Reinforcement layer for joints or chest and back of special protective clothing (firefighting, racing suits), combining flexibility and cut resistance.

High-temperature sealing gaskets (such as chemical pipeline flanges), using its flexibility to ensure sealing.

Aramid 1414 thick felt 4600g/12mm

Medium weight/thickness. Combines heat insulation and compressive strength; further reduced thermal conductivity.

Applications:

Heat insulation shields for industrial high-temperature equipment (such as furnaces, hot air ducts), balancing heat insulation and ease of installation.

Fire-resistant isolation curtains (factory fire compartmentalization), flame-retardant and resistant to long-term thermal radiation.

Aramid 1414 thick felt 5000g/16mm

High weight, significantly increased thickness. High compressive strength, heat insulation; improved wear resistance.

Applications:

Aerospace thermal protection layer (rocket engine compartment, return capsule), resisting aerodynamic heat flow.

Heavy-duty machinery explosion-proof lining (mining equipment, pressure vessels), impact-resistant and wear-resistant.

Aramid 1414 thick felt 8000g/25mm

Ultra-high weight/ultra-thick. Impact resistance and heat insulation performance; large structural rigidity, requires special tools for processing; can withstand short-term flames above 2500℃.

Applications: Armor reinforcement layer (tanks, armored vehicles), resisting armor-piercing projectile fragments and explosion shock waves. Explosion-proof wall filling layer for nuclear facilities, combining radiation shielding and extreme heat insulation.
