Polyimide fabric is applied to cable wrapping and fire suits.

Polyimide possesses the following characteristics

1. Environmental Stability

Temperature resistance: Long-term use temperature up to 260℃, decomposition temperature >500℃ (e.g., PI non-woven fabric works stably in high-temperature flue gas filtration);

Flame retardancy: Limiting oxygen index (LOI) >38%, carbonization without melting when encountering fire, self-extinguishing after removing fire, meeting the safety standards of protective clothing;

Chemical inertness: Acid and organic solvent resistant, mechanical properties remain good after immersion in 30% hydrochloric acid or 40% nitric acid.

2. Mechanical and Functional Properties

High strength and modulus (strength >4.0 cN/dtex, modulus up to 56.62 GPa) but low elongation at break (about 4%), resulting in easy breakage during weaving;

Low moisture absorption (<1%), antibacterial properties and far-infrared function, suitable for close-fitting protective clothing.

Polyimide Non-woven Fabric: High-efficiency Filtration and Protective Framework

Chemical protective clothing: As a framework layer, it is resistant to acid and alkali corrosion and has excellent flame retardancy (damage length <2 mm);

High-temperature filtration: Used for dust removal in cement plants and garbage incineration plants, withstanding 260℃ long-term operating conditions.

Polyimide woven fabric and filament fabric: High-strength structural materials

Aerospace: Woven fabrics are used for thermal control multilayer insulation blankets and engine insulation components;

Consumer electronics: High-strength PI filament fabrics are used for foldable mobile phone covers, combining light transmission, lightweight, and bending resistance requirements;

Industrial composite materials: Composite with resin to produce aircraft cabin panels and high-speed rail partitions, utilizing high insulation and low thermal expansion coefficient advantages.

Polyimide Knitted Fabric: Comfortable Flame-retardant Protection

Special protective clothing: Firefighting suits, arc-resistant suits (such as polyimide pure spun fabrics);

Defense equipment: Flight suits, racing fire-resistant suits, utilizing their heat insulation (low thermal conductivity) and flame retardant properties.
