Aramid 1414 fiber sliver is a strip-shaped nonwoven fiber sliver cut to custom dimensions based on customer requirements, derived from full-width Aramid 1414 nonwoven fabric. It features high strength and high modulus, as well as excellent loftiness and uniformity. This material serves as a critical intermediate product that can be further processed into yarns, ribbons, paper, and other applications.
Aramid 1414 fiber sliver—width can be customized. The sample shown in the illustration is a sliver with a width of 5 cm. Thickness can also be customized, and specifications are customizable as well. Typically, each roll contains 50 meters.
Aramid 1414 sliver possesses the following excellent characteristics:
Excellent high-temperature resistance It can be used continuously at temperatures above 200°C and instantly withstands extreme temperatures exceeding 400°C without melting—only carbonizing.
Excellent flame retardancy It has a high oxygen index, self-extinguishes when removed from the flame source, and does not support combustion.
High strength and high modulus Especially the aramid component provides it with an exceptionally high specific strength (more than five times that of steel wire).
Stable chemical properties It can resist the corrosion of most chemical solvents and has excellent acid-alkali resistance.
Excellent insulation performance Good electrical insulation performance.
Machinability The morphology of wool tops makes them ideally suited for subsequent spinning, papermaking, or stuffing.
Application fields of aramid 1414 non-woven fiber sliver:
1. Composite material reinforcement
Aramid 1414 boasts high strength, high modulus, and low weight. Its staple fiber form is easily impregnated with resin and can be laid out in a directional manner to provide strength in specific directions. As a reinforcing material for prepregs or molded parts, it is used in aerospace components, lightweight automotive parts, sporting goods (such as rackets and fishing rods), and high-performance tire cord fabrics.
2. Industrial engineering liner
Aramid 1414 boasts durable thermal stability and excellent chemical resistance. Its fiber form is soft and pliable, enabling it to fill irregular spaces and providing effective protection and sealing. It is used as a thermal insulation lining in high-temperature environments, as a sealing gasket for industrial equipment, or as a composite material combined with other materials for structural reinforcement.
3. Protective and Safety Equipment
Aramid 1414, with its high toughness and impact resistance, can effectively absorb energy. The fluffy structure of the fiber helps provide excellent thermal insulation. It is used as a reinforcing layer in soft body armor, bulletproof helmets, and puncture-resistant fabrics, or as a thermal-insulation buffer layer in fire-fighting suits and high-temperature-resistant gloves.
