Basalt fiber woven long-filament fabric for structural reinforcement in construction and high-temperature thermal insulation shields
Sep 20,2025

Basalt continuous filament woven fabric is made from basalt ore, which is melted at temperatures exceeding 1450°C and then rapidly drawn into continuous fibers using a platinum-rhodium alloy spinneret. These fibers are subsequently processed into textiles through advanced weaving techniques. It is a high-performance inorganic fiber material.
1. Excellent thermal stability
High-temperature resistance: It can withstand long-term use in a temperature range from -269°C to +700°C, with instantaneous exposure to temperatures exceeding 1000°C.
Low-temperature resistance: Remains durable and maintains stable performance even in ultra-low temperature environments.
Low thermal conductivity: It is an excellent insulation and heat-retention material.
2. Excellent mechanical properties
High strength: Its tensile strength surpasses that of large-tow carbon fibers, aramids, and E-glass fibers, while remaining comparable to S-glass fibers.
High modulus: High elastic modulus, great rigidity, and resistant to deformation.
It exhibits excellent compatibility with resins: When used as a reinforcing material in composites, it demonstrates good wettability toward matrices such as epoxy resin and phenolic resin, resulting in strong interfacial adhesion.
3. Excellent Chemical Stability
Corrosion-resistant: It exhibits high resistance to chemical media such as acids, bases, and salts, with particularly outstanding acid resistance—far superior to E-glass fiber.
Hydrolysis Resistance: Maintains stable performance in humid and watery environments, with no aging.
4. Excellent electrical insulation性能
High dielectric strength: It is an excellent electrical insulating material.
Excellent microwave transmittance: Virtually no obstruction to microwaves, delivering outstanding wave-penetration performance.
5. Excellent environmental features
Green raw material: The production原料 is a single basalt ore, with no additives whatsoever.
Environmentally friendly production process: The manufacturing process generates no boron or other alkali metal oxide emissions, resulting in minimal environmental pollution.
Recyclable: Waste materials can be fully recycled or used as raw materials for geopolymer production, aligning with sustainable development goals.
Applications of basalt-woven filament fabric
1. Fire Prevention and Protection Field
Firefighting suits/fire-resistant suits: Designed for use by firefighters, welders, and petrochemical workers as high-temperature protective clothing, providing thermal insulation and fire-retardant protection.
Fire blanket/fire extinguishing blanket: Emergency fire-fighting equipment for homes, factories, and laboratories.
Fire curtains/fire door curtains: Used in building fire compartments, stages, ships, and more, to prevent the spread of fire.
High-temperature insulation sleeves/tubes: Used to wrap high-temperature pipes, valves, equipment, and more, providing thermal insulation and protective functions.
2. Composite Material Reinforcement Field
Aerospace: Used to manufacture aircraft fairings, interior panels, fuel tanks, and other secondary load-bearing structural components, replacing some fiberglass applications to reduce weight and enhance performance.
Automotive industry: Used in the manufacturing of brake pads, mufflers, insulation panels, high-pressure gas cylinders, and more—offering excellent resistance to high temperatures, corrosion, and vibration damping.
Shipbuilding: Used for manufacturing hulls and decks, its resistance to seawater corrosion far surpasses that of fiberglass.
Sports equipment: Used to make fishing rods, bicycle frames, bows and arrows, etc., it’s lighter and stronger than fiberglass.
3. Architecture and Civil Engineering Field
Building Structure Reinforcement (BFRP): As a type of basalt fiber fabric (BFRP cloth), it is used to replace carbon fiber fabric (CFRP) for strengthening and repairing concrete structures such as bridges, buildings, and tunnels. It offers advantages like high cost-effectiveness and excellent alkali resistance.
Building thermal insulation materials: Used as insulation layers for walls or roofs, these materials boast high fire resistance ratings.
4. Electronics, Electrical Engineering, and Communications领域
Circuit substrates: Leveraging their excellent dielectric properties, they are used to manufacture high-performance printed circuit boards (PCBs).
Radar antenna radome: It boasts excellent wave-transmitting performance, making it ideal for manufacturing radar domes with minimal signal attenuation.
Insulating materials: Used for insulating diaphragms, bushings, and other components in various high-temperature motors and electrical appliances.
