Glass fiber sealing strips are strip-shaped substrates made from continuous glass fiber yarns processed through a specialized weaving technique—typically a braiding process. The product comes with a high-strength, temperature-resistant, pressure-sensitive adhesive (double-sided tape) and is backed by release paper for easy handling. During installation, simply peel off the release paper, and the sealing strip can be directly applied to the clean surface that requires sealing. This innovative design eliminates the need for additional adhesives or mechanical fastening methods, significantly boosting installation efficiency while reducing labor costs—making it especially ideal for sealing applications involving complex shapes.

Characteristics of glass fiber seals:

① High-temperature resistance: It can withstand temperatures continuously in the range of 260°C to 315°C, with even higher thermal shock resistance for short periods.

② Excellent thermal insulation performance: The sealing strip effectively reduces heat transfer, minimizes temperature loss, and helps conserve energy.

③ Excellent corrosion resistance: Glass fibers inherently possess strong acid- and alkali-resistant properties, remaining stable against most chemicals and highly resistant to corrosion.

④High Strength and Abrasion Resistance: The outer layer's glass fiber braided sleeve provides exceptional mechanical strength, offering excellent tensile and abrasion resistance, and is unlikely to be damaged by friction or stretching, ensuring a long service life.

⑤ Soft and highly elastic: Despite its high strength, it remains flexible, allowing it to bend and coil effortlessly while filling gaps of various shapes and irregular contours, ensuring a reliable sealing performance.

⑥ Fireproof and Flame-Retardant: All constituent materials are inorganic and non-combustible, significantly reducing fire hazards.

⑦ Low thermal conductivity: Effectively prevents heat transfer, delivering high insulation efficiency.

⑧ Eco-friendly and non-toxic: Typically free from harmful substances like asbestos, and it does not release toxic gases even at high temperatures.

Applications of glass fiber seals:

The primary functions of glass fiber seals are sealing, thermal insulation, and heat preservation.

Specific application methods include:

Filling gaps: Used to seal gaps in industrial furnaces, boiler doors, observation windows, and other areas, preventing heat loss and cold air infiltration.

Wrapping and Insulation: Used to wrap high-temperature components such as pipes, valves, flanges, elbows, and more, providing thermal insulation and heat protection.

Sealing gasket: Can be used as a high-temperature flange or manhole sealing gasket.

Securing with Strapping: Used to fasten other insulation materials (such as ceramic fiber blankets or modules) onto the equipment being insulated.

Metallurgical Industry:

Steel smelting: Sealing of furnace doors and observation holes for blast furnaces, hot blast stoves, coke ovens, heating furnaces, and annealing furnaces.

Non-ferrous metals: aluminum melting furnaces, copper smelting furnaces, and more.
